Meet Our Owner

Joy Banks, CEO

As owner and CEO of Banks & Associates, LLC, I have worked for over 15 years in construction, safety, and project management. Having achieved my Master’s in Environmental Health and Safety from Northern Illinois University, I strongly desired to create a consulting firm that creates opportunities for others.

I understand first-hand the challenges small to large-scale projects face when it comes to revenue management, resource allocation, and meeting project deadlines. Having consulted with Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) on a variety of construction projects, my firm began to shift our focus to even more mega projects, even being part of a team who won the AIA Chicago Design Excellence Awards, Distinguished Building Award in 2019.

Being a woman and a minority in a male-dominated industry has not been easy, but it has been rewarding. My vision is to establish an externship for minorities who are not aware of opportunities in construction consulting on capital improvement projects. As Banks continues to grow and flourish, our goal is to invest in the training and development of under-served groups, while expanding our brand throughout the country.
